Squarespace Web Designer
I’m a web designer, working exclusively on the Squarespace platform, helping small business owners and solopreneurs succeed and get their services in front of their perfect customers through thoughtful, clear, well designed websites. I’m based in East Sussex and work with clients across the UK and further afield.
I offer a budget-friendly semi-custom website design option, based on one of my templates, or a fully bespoke custom website design service.
My story
Now in my 50s, I have worked in many roles over the years, from Associate Managing Editor for a journals publishing company to a Project Manager for an IT Company, to a Systems and Information Manager for a leading University. I am well practiced in problem solving, strategic thinking, zooming in and out, organising vast quantities of information, writing content for specific audiences, training users, managing large websites and implementing and managing systems and software projects. I am also a passionate photographer in my spare time.
Refocus and realignment
After chronic illness led me to step back from my last role at the University, I realised that I was deeply craving a more creative aspect to my career. During my time away from the working world, I thorougly enjoyed designing and building my personal website and blog to showcase my photography and share the things I loved. For me this was the perfect blend of creativity, strategy and organisation, bringing together my love of colour, typefaces and design with my love for blending words and images, along with a healthy dollop of geekiness. My perfect job was born.
The Squarespace platform
I took my time to train in website design and get to know the Squarespace platform inside and out. I had already been using Squarespace for my personal website since 2015 and loved the platform and its ease of use. It was the perfect choice - a joy to design and build in and super easy for customers to update their websites afterwards, with no maintenance headaches as Squarespace take care of all the updates.
I then designed a series of website templates aimed at service providers, to form the basis of a low-cost website design offering for those just starting out. I’m now working with busy small business owners, helping them to bring their vision and business goals to life through beautiful AND strategic websites.
My approach: calm and clear
I understand that creating your website and hub for your business is a big and very important project for you. I aim to make this process as simple and straightforward as possible, by breaking things down and guiding you through each step, following a clear, structured process.
I will communicate clearly, and listen to your requirements and feedback and do my utmost to accommodate them. I see this as a collaborative project, and I want you to be delighted with your website and confident about updating it going forwards.
My approach is a calm and gentle one. I will keep things as simple as possible and will not rush you. You will always be heard.
A little more about me…
I’m an introvert and a HSP (Highly Sensitive Person). I love peace and quiet and space and love, love, love working from home - there’s no going back to the corporate or academic world for me now.
I adore being in nature - it calms me like nothing else. I spend as much time as possible out walking in the forest and by the sea. I moved from Oxford to East Sussex over a decade ago to live by the sea and have access to more quiet green space. I live with my husband and small dog, Misty, who gets us out and about, whatever the weather.
I’m passionate about photography and am at my happiest pottering around the coast and gardens with my camera in hand. I love trying to capture quiet moments of joy and beautiful simplicity.
I love curling up with a good book and completely immersing myself in other worlds, preferably tucked up under a blanket on a comfy sofa or gently swaying on my egg chair amidst the flowers in my garden.
You will find me outside in my garden most of the summer, with my hands in the soil and bare feet on the grass, trying to squeeze a few more flowers and pots in to my happy, colourful space
Yoga is another deep love of mine and keeps me calm, open and grounded. It’s been an almost daily practice for the last 25 years - I don’t know where I’d be without it.

Choose one of my strategic pre-designed Squarespace templates, and I will customise it for you, adding your text/content/images and your branding (fonts/logo/colours) and adapting it as necessary to suit your business.
I can optionally design a simple word-mark logo and choose fonts and colours for you and do image research if needed.
This is the fastest way to get you to a gorgeous website.

Fully custom website
Best for those who want something completely bespoke!
I will design a completely custom website in Squarespace to meet your needs. You will provide your text/content/images and your branding (fonts/logo/colours) and we will discuss your vision and inspiration and requirements in detail.
I can optionally design a simple word-mark logo and choose fonts and colours for you and do image research if needed.
This option will take a bit longer
